I found my love for I.T. in the Army. In September of 2000, I signed up for eight weeks of Basic Training and twenty-four weeks of radio training. It turns out the Army had different plans. Instead, I got eighteen weeks of computers and six weeks of radios. I loved the new stories I.T. provided every day. It was a baptism by fire when I found myself in Afghanistan a year later due to the events of 9/11. I excelled in every aspect of the job. I was the sole I.T. support for a unit. A year later, I was placed in an even bigger unit where I received award after award and eventually the Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Service. It was very rare for someone of my rank to receive that award.
After the military, I decided to make I.T. a career. After attending Chippewa Valley Technical College, I was fortunate enough to get a job at Forward Bank where I have been for thirteen years. In this job, I have become a jack-of-all master-of-none. I was not sure where I wanted this career to go. After trying networking, Citrix, and virtual servers, I have decided to go into Cyber Security.
I am currently Studying Cyber Security at Fox Valley Technical College. I cannot wait to hear new stories and make a few of my own.
ResuméMy youngest daughter was born with a rare bone condition and we received a lot of support from the wonderful people at CMN. It is our pleasure to help in any way we can. It also helps that my daughter was Child Ambassador for CMN in 2019 and is the Child Champion for 2022. You may see her on the news, a local commercial or hear her on a radio broadcast raising money for Children's Miracle Network.
The plasma collected is processed into a wide variety of life-saving therapeutics that benefit thousands of people. Plasma-based therapeutics are used in the treatment of serious disorders such as hemophilia and immune system deficiencies. It is important to remember that plasma is not a substance that can be produced in a laboratory or some other artificial environment.
Our focus is to help Veteran care facilities provide a warm meal, clothing, shelter, guidance, or simply to say “Thank You.” We sponsor and participate in many motorcycle-related charity events and donate to various veteran care facilities each year.
Not only do I mentor but I am an active member of the Activity and Planning Committee where we try to plan monthly activities for Bigs and their Littles. Mentoring and helping the young man I am paired with has been one of the most satisfying things I have ever done.
As a jack-of-all-trades master-of-none, there are not many systems I have not been involved with. From general troubleshooting to coding this web page. I have found my main areas of expertise to be Windows server management, and vSphere virtual environment. I also excel working with Cisco Call Manager and Unity. With the help of a thrid party I did get our organizations Citrix environment upgraded and running and now I am the one to provide maintenance to that system as well.
